Leading hotel has a new focus on future

A NEW hotel management and leisure services company has taken over the operation of a leading Salisbury hotel.
The Swallow Rose & Crown Hotel at Harnham will be operated and managed by Legacy Hotels and Resorts in a three-year deal worth in excess of £120,000.
The agreement has been announced after the holding company for Swallow Hotels, London and Edinburgh Swallow Group, called in administrators in September.
All staff at the three-star hotel were due to be offered re-employment at the 13th Century coaching inn when the contract got underway last Thursday.
Andy Townsend, chief executive of Legacy Hotels and Resorts, said the deal was a great opportunity to develop the 28-bedroom hotel.
"After the collapse of Swallow Hotels' holding company, this management contract is a superb chance for Legacy Hotels and Resorts to build on the high standards historically delivered at the Rose & Crown," he said.
"The hotel is ideally situated near the River Avon and Salisbury Cathedral, and we feel there is significant further potential for development.
"We will focus on expanding the hotel's conference and wedding bookings by emphasising the elegant surroundings, innovative menus and award-winning flowerbeds which provide the ideal backdrop for photographs.
"Our executive team has vast experience in the hotel and leisure industry and, since forming last year, the company has agreed management contracts for several hotels throughout the country. We are confident our work at the Rose & Crown Hotel will soon prove be just as successful."
Legacy Hotels and Resorts has also secured a management contract at The Swallow Derby Hotel.
The group operates The Falcon Hotel situated in Stratford-upon-Avon, The Bramhall County Hotel in Manchester, The Oaklands Country House Hotel near Grimsby, The Chesterfield Hotel in Chesterfield and The Wild Pheasant Hotel in Llangollen, north Wales.
