Warning over shed break-ins
POLICE are warning people to make sure sheds and garages are kept locked after a spate of break-ins in Salisbury.
Over the last few days there have been eight incidents where sheds, garages or lock ups have been broken into or attempts have been made to break in.
The incidents happened in locations including Devizes Road, Wilton Road and Lower Road, with further incidents in Neville Road, Heath Road and the city allotments, and seem to have been mainly overnight.
Items which have been taken include a tent and outdoor cooking kit, strimmers, petrol mower, a drill, a bike and a hedge trimmer.
PCSO Hannah Milburn said: “This type of crime seems to be on the increase and we are asking residents to update their security, particularly to ensure they have suitable locks.
“It is also important that anyone who sees suspicious activity, which might be people or vehicles not normally seen in the area, report the incident to Police as it may well help us to prevent further crimes.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact PCSO Milburn at Salisbury Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
