THE closing date for the latest Special Constabulary recruitment campaign has been extended to April 8.
Dorset Police is hoping to build a team of “rural” specials, who will work exclusively in more remote communities including Blandford, Gillingham, Dorchester, Sherborne and East Dorset.
Special constables are volunteer police officers who are provided with full training and are given the opportunity to get involved in a range of day-to-day policing activities.
