A BALLET teacher who taught hundreds of children in Fordingbridge has died.

Hilary Moss, a Royal Academy of Dancing teacher and examiner who taught ballet for the Pat Britton School of Dance at the Avonway Community Centre for 32 years, died on March 7.

Tributes have been paid to the “gifted and brilliant” teacher who was much loved by the hundreds of dance students she taught over the years.

Pat Britton, ex-principal of The Pat Britton School of Dancing Fordingbridge, said: “Hilary was such an outstanding person, a beautiful person that you would never forget once you had met her.

“She was known by hundreds of children and parents in Fordingbridge and in other areas too. She was such a talent, so gifted and so young when I met her.”

“I used to run a successful dance school in Drury Lane, Covent Garden before moving to Fordingbridge in 1981. Hilary began working for me in 1982 and was my senior dance teacher. Her life was dedicated to the Royal Academy.”

Mrs Britton added: “Hilary was one of the most wonderful people I have ever known.”

Mrs Moss began teaching in 1973 and joined the staff members at the College of the Royal Academy of Dance in 1978.

She was also a RAD Grades Examiner.
