Doorman assaulted in Amesbury

A DOORMAN was assaulted in Amesbury after asking two men to leave the premises.

The incident took place near The George Hotel, High Street just after 11.20pm on Friday.

After being ejected from the hotel by door staff, two men made their way back into the bar area before being asked to leave again.

A scuffle then broke out and the doorman was assaulted, leaving him needed hospital treatment for a hand injury.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and actual bodily harm. Both have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
