I USED to be really good at procrastinating. My job lends itself to be the perfect procrastinator’s dream.

How many people can actually say that they get paid to sit on facebook and Twitter most days?

The one problem with this, though, is that there is a thin line between running my clients’ social media accounts, and getting sucked into facebook gossip, inspirational quotes and getting lost in blogs I end up reading.

My job is fab; I feel blessed that I can do for a living what many people only dream of. As people are running out of time and don’t have the chance to do their marketing themselves, my business gets stronger every day.

When people ask me ‘how’s business?’ what is my answer? Business is on the right track and moving forward fast, almost whizzing.

This is because I ensure I keep learning and moving forward, every day. I look at these questions below, and I suggest you do too. It will help clarify what business is really like for you, and if it is as great or as bad as you might think:

  • How many hours/days do you work, and how many would you like to work?
  •  What would you ideally charge for your services or products, and what do you currently charge?
  • What value do you bring to your customers, can you bring more value, and how?
  •  What are you doing day to day, and what can you outsource to make you more productive?
  • What are your ideal customers like and who do you really want to work with?
  • Where is your business located, and where would you really like to be located?
  • How much do you earn from your business, and what is the amount you would really like to earn?
  • How do you dress for work, and how would you really like to dress?
  • What technology do you use, and what technology would you really like to use?

Having read these questions, I can honestly say business is good and moving forward. Can you?

It is goals and ideas that move me forward on a week-to-week basis and each of these points have been worked on for both Kennedy PR and Kenzia Restaurant Marketing.

Kenzia was born out of who my ideal clients are and what I ideally wanted to do. I love all my clients, but my passion is firmly rooted in the restaurant trade.

If you plan and set yourself goals, procrastination can go out of the window, and moving forward towards a target and your ideal business, is within reach.

Answer these questions and work on you and your business. Make sure you are on the right track too.
