A PACKED church welcomed the Revd Dr Mike Perry as the new vicar of Woodford Valley with Archers Gate on Wednesday at a special service led by the Bishop of Salisbury.
Archdeacon Alan Jeans, local clergy and lay ministers were part of the service, held at All Saints Church in Middle Woodford, together with a large congregation from the parish and many people from Revd Perry’s former parishes.
The choir sang a special anthem, Songs of Joy, composed and written by local musician Janet Wright. The service was followed by a celebratory party in Woodford Valley Primary Academy’s school hall.
A former research scientist at Bristol University, Revd Perry is moving from Queen Camel in Somerset after ten years.
