PUPILS and staff at Stratford-sub-Castle Primary School have waved a fond farewell to finance officer Valerie Cannings who retired at the end of the summer term.
Mrs Cannings has been at the school for 28 years and has worked for three headteachers and been well-loved by thousands of youngsters.
She was presented with commemorative gifts and a bouquet of flowers at a special assembly held at the end of term.
