A DEDICATED fundraiser who has clocked up more than £4,000 for charity is hoping to raise even more through a number of events over the next few months.

Susan Thornton, from Salisbury, started fundraising in 2010 when she took part in the Moonwalk in London for Walk The Walk breast cancer charity, and she has taken on more and more challenges ever since.

This year’s calendar of events, which will also be raising money for Guide Dogs, includes four half marathons, three full marathons and a fundraiser covering 39.3 miles in two days.

This month saw her take on the Dublin Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon, and in September and October she will be taking part in the Great North and Great South runs.

She will be finishing this year’s fundraising with the New York Marathon before taking part in the Disney World Marathon Goofy Challenge in January.

She decided to raise money for Guide Dogs this year as her parents have been puppy walkers for the charity for many years, and have just welcomed their ninth puppy.
