A FUN dog show, classic cars and a black powder clay shoot were among the attractions at this year’s Newton Tony village fete.

Visitors to the fete on Monday could enjoy cream teas and a barbecue and also have a go activities ranging from archery to crafts.

Fete committee member Jackie Hasted said: “It was a really good day. The weather was fantastic and we had about 1,000 people in attendance.

“In the arena we had the fun dog show, which was entertaining for onlookers and also the owners of the dogs, in addition to a gun dog demonstration, which went down really well.”

The event helped raise funds for four charities in the village: St Andrew’s Church, the primary school, the village hall and the pre-school.
