Braemar assistant has head shaved for charity
A HEALTHCARE assistant at Braemar Lodge care home in Salisbury let residents lop off his locks in the name of charity.
James Cash, 20, had his head shaved to raise money towards a new cricket pitch and clubhouse at Shrewton and has raised £250 so far.
Residents and staff, including his mother Jackie, who is head of care, and blind 99-year-old resident Dorothy Noyce, took turns to shave his head.
Mr Cash said: “I can honestly say it was the worst experience of my life. I feel as though I’ve lost my personality but it’s for a good cause. “The upside is that I’ll save lots of money now on hair products, including hair gel, and I’ve still got my ears intact.”
The keen cricketer is also among 12 players from Shrewton walking 100 miles to the Lord’s ground from September 18 to 22 to raise money towards the new pitch and clubhouse.
