East Grimstead fete raises funds for hospice
VILLAGERS enjoyed a fun-filled summer fete and flower show in East Grimstead on Saturday.
About 200 people went along to White House Farm to take part in crockery smashing, a falconry display, raffle, skittles tournament, beat the goalie and more.
There were also flower and food cups awarded by Salisbury Hospice fundraising manager John Munro, pictured, who opened the show.
Richard Peacham and Jack Maple were double winners, scooping The Victory Fry Challenge Cup for their vegetables and The Faith Challenge Cup for their flowers.
Katie Boswell clinched the The Cherry Challenge Cup, recognising crafts and cookery, while youngster Isobel White won The Grace Children Challenge Cup and The Raymond Gay Children’s Cup.
Organiser Terri Jackson said: "We had a fantastic turnout and everyone really enjoyed themselves. “There was fabulous support from our village.”
The event raised £3,597.28 for Salisbury Hospice. Various events held in aid of the hospice in the village this year have raised a total of £4,895.
