East Dorset's revenues and benefits may be merged with other councils
2:00pm Monday 9th September 2013 in News
A JOINT service between four Dorset councils could be given the go-ahead to save money.
Councillors at the Borough of Poole and the authorities within the Stour Valley Partnership – Christchurch, East Dorset and North Dorset – will decide this month whether to form a partnership to deliver revenues and benefit services.
A business case was approved by members at Borough of Poole and the Stour Valley Partnership Joint Committee in July and will now be taken to each full council.
If approved, the partnership will be asked to approve the recommendation to implement the Stour Valley and Poole Partnership in phases, starting with a shared management structure from April while maintaining current services.
The second phase, which will look at bringing together the operational services for the authourities will be reviewed by the councils next year.
