Art society members scoop prizes and sales

RINGWOOD Art Society’s summer exhibition attracted more than 200 guests and members to its preview evening, with 15 paintings being sold on the night.
Mayor Steve Rippon-Swaine opened the display of 412 exhibits including pottery. He awarded trophies to the artists with the most innovative and artistic skills, judged this year by Linda Patterson.
The Ann Rose trophy for the best painting, voted for by members and guests, went to Colin Richins for Pre-Match Pep Talk, and runner-up was Nurture by Ann Squire.
The Jan Murray trophy for best oil painting, and the Foster Wells trophy for best in show and overall winning painting judged by Linda Patterson was won by Virginia Whiting for River At Sunrise.
