THE history of the Woodford Valley was captured in a well-attended display held at the weekend.

Woodford Valley Oral History Project Group staged its first exhibition of oral and visual material gathered over the last year at Middle Woodford Village Hall.

Since September 2012, many long time residents of the valley have been interviewed and recorded, and they have shared many photographs of relatives and events that occurred in the nine villages lining the River Avon.

Entitled The Time Whisperers: The Woodford Valley Remembered, the exhibition was professionally staged and included listening posts and viewing points together with a range of memorabilia and artefacts. It was opened by the Mayor of Wilton Phil Matthews.

Among the many visitors were those researching their family history, together with people who have moved away but whose parents and grandparents had been resident in the valley.

Group members Margaret Feetham, Karen Hitchlock, Daphne Ince, Rob Macdonald and Rae Owen said they were delighted with the response to the exhibition.
