Meeting shows healthcare is a hot topic
TIDWORTH MP Claire Perry has hosted a healthcare meeting in the town to discuss local provision and issues.
Local healthcare professionals joined Mrs Perry for discussions on improvements in services for those with dementia and their families, the use of electronic communication within the NHS, the provision of physiotherapy services, and support for patients leaving hospital.
They also discussed the future needs for healthcare services in the Salisbury Plain area in readiness for Army2020, which will see about 4,000 additional troops and their families being stationed in the area from 2017.
Mrs Perry said: “Healthcare matters are one of the most frequently raised topics with me by my constituents and I am pleased to once again be holding local health care forums across the constituency.
“The animated discussion at the Tidworth meeting shows just how much our health services are valued and I am delighted that the GP led Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group has made so much progress, especially in support for dementia sufferers in the last six months.”
