All the fun of the Rockbourne Fair
SHOPPING, dining, socialising and fundraising will be on the menu when the Rockbourne Fair returns to Salisbury Racecourse on October 23, 24 and 25.
The annual pre-Christmas shopping fair, now in its 25th year, is expected to attract thousands of people from Wiltshire, Hampshire, Dorset and beyond.
This year there will be more than 90 stands, including many exciting new stalls, with stallholders from across the UK selling exclusive and original goods. In the food hall, shoppers can taste and take home a wide selection of gourmet food and drink from smoked salmon and delicious sausages to the ever-popular speciality cheeses.
The fair will remain open until 7.30pm on the Thursday evening for late night shopping and there will be plenty free parking.
All proceeds from the Rockbourne Fair are donated to the Stars Appeal, Salisbury District Hospital’s charity that raises money for extra care and equipment over and above that provided by the NHS.
Money raised at this year’s fair will go towards their CT scanner campaign, which aims to raise £650,000 to buy a second scanner that will benefit around 12,000 local people each year.
A second scanner at the hospital will cut waiting times, make sure scans are always available, mean less travelling to other hospitals for scans and patients will benefit from advanced technology and techniques that will reduce the need for minor exploratory surgery.
Jane Corani, a member of the voluntary organising committee, said: “The fair is a really good day out, with many of our old favourites returning this year as well as some exciting new stalls.”
The fair will be open from 10am-5pm on the Wednesday, 10-7.30pm on Thursday and 10-3.30pm on the Friday.
Entry is £5 (£3 after 4pm on Thursday).
