Firsdown house plan refused
PROPOSALS to turn a bungalow in Firsdown into a house have been refused planning permission after concerns were raised about over-development in the area.
Wiltshire Council’s southern area planning committee heard at a meeting in Salisbury on Friday that numerous applications for the bungalow have been submitted in the past.
The latest plan involved raising the roof of the property in Firs Road to create rooms in the roof space.
Wiltshire Council received six letters of objection on the grounds of excessive scale, increased noise and disturbance, and undue overlooking of neighbouring properties.
Concerns were also raised about the design of the raised roof, which neighbours felt was out of keeping with the area.
