5:00pm Monday 9th December 2013 in News
A YOUNG chorister from Fordingbridge has been selected for the prestigious National Children’s Choir of Great Britain.
Forres Sandle Manor pupil Emily Hartley, 12, successfully auditioned for the choir after years of public performances – she first sang solo in public aged four.
Emily is part of the senior choir and vocal ensemble at the school, plays the viola and piano and is a member of several other musical groups at FSM.
Her first public performance was at the Saltash Music Festival in Cornwall, where she sang solo at the age of four.
Beverley Miller, director of music at FSM, said: “Emily is our uniting force in our senior choir.
“She has the capacity to get her peers to elevate their own singing standards, and is the single most exciting young singer we have had at FSM for a number of years.”
