PUPILS at Leehurst Swan School got all geared up for a Victorian Christmas.

The youngsters and their teachers donned period costume and walked to Wren Hall in the Cathedral Close to experience how the festive season was celebrated in years gone by.

They made pink and white sugar mice and then gathered round the fire for the story of the Tin Soldier. After lunch they played Victorian games outside and then constructed a Christmas decoration from willow twigs.

Next came a visit from Santa and gifts of oranges, nuts and sweets to take home. It was a wonderful day, much enjoyed by staff and pupils and we are very sorry that Wren Hall is closing next year.
