AS each year comes to a close, I like to look back and see what I have learned, and which moments in that year have been outstanding.

Stand out moments for me include getting engaged to my darling fiancé Matthew Watts, my relaxed Australian who is the calm to my ‘intense’, as someone once called me.

I like to have clarity in my business and personal life and know where I want to be in the next few years.

I think about how to live my passion and turn it into a highly effective business, helping business owners and entrepreneurs to have clients in abundance.

Starting and finishing an entrepreneurial course from the Institute of Leadership and Management, I learned that you just had to get stuff done, work hard and ‘lean in’ to those around you to have business success.

Of course there is more to it, as I have said over the past few months in my articles, but basically the only way to move forward is to get stuff done!

I have learned that you are the sum of the five people you hang out with most. If you want to soar like an eagle then you have to fly with them.

If you hang out with demotivated and angry people you will end up angry and demotivated.

I learned that writing a book is easier than you may think, but editing a book is hard. I am still editing and it’s no where near as much fun as writing it.

I learned that there is something quite liberating about sacking clients who don’t pay you enough money and demand the earth from you – I urge you to try it, and free up your time to market to highpaying clients.

I learned that success is all about attitude. What you put out into the universe will come back to you, and good things happen to good people.

And I have learned and implemented new marketing strategies that have transformed my business.

It’s not a numbers game, but actually a relationships game. If you have deep relationships with people, then they recommend you and buy from you.

You can’t be liked by everyone, but if you are authentic then you will attract the right people to you and you will be loved.

I have received so many lovely Christmas presents from clients this year, and am blessed to work with such amazing people.

Other people who have had a positive influence on my life this year include Lindsey Brown, Ceri Hurford-Jones, Bill Browne and Nicky Wyatt.

Their support, and the opportunities that have been presented because of them have been priceless.

Thank you.

So, at the end of my best year yet, I wish you all good luck for 2014 and may you be healthy, wealthy and, most of all, happy.
