A PLANNING inspector has overturned the decision of Wiltshire Council to refuse planning permission for the conversion of a garage into a ‘granny annexe’ in Amesbury.
The council had refused permission for the works at a property in Boscombe Road due to concerns of the impact of the work on the character and appearance of the area.
However, planning inspector Nick Fagan felt the effect would be mitigated by two large trees in neighbouring gardens and the wall of a nearby two-storey that is considerably higher than the proposed annexe would be.
