SALISBURY Trust for the Homeless (STFH) has received £700 from the Stratford Singers.

This represented half the donations the singers earned for their carol singing at 11 events in the lead-up to Christmas.

The other half was given, as always, to Save the Children for its work in this country.

Cheques were handed over to Gordon Pardy, chairman of STFH, and to Caroline Rippier of Save the Children.

In addition, both charities also received more than £100 each from St Lawrence’s Church, Stratford-sub-Castle.

The Stratford Singers were formed in 1965, and every year since then have accepted invitations to sing at private events in December, raising thousands of pounds for good causes.
