COOKING equipment for a low-income minority group is to be partly funded through a £1,250 grant from Salisbury Area Board.
The board heard from Malayalee Association member Stalin Sunny that it is customary for the community to share cooking at harvest festivals and other celebrations, but that they are currently restricted by hygiene considerations as they have no permanent premises for meetings.
Equipment in use is of dubious quality and the association wishes to offer hospitality to other groups, once established. The total cost of the project is £2,500.
