A MAN was punched in the face in an unprovoked attack at a cash machine in Salisbury city centre.
Police are appealing for information regarding the assault, which happened between 2am and 2.30am on January 11.
The victim, a 26-year-old man, was using the Santander cash machine in New Canal when he was approached by another man and punched in the face.
He was left with substantial swelling and bruising. The suspect is described as white, about 5ft 7ins tall and of slim, muscular build.
He was wearing a navy blue t-shirt with a white motif on the front. Following the assault, he walked off in the direction of the taxi rank. Anyone who was in the area is asked to contact PC Jackie Allen at Salisbury Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
