PEOPLE have been busy fundraising for local children’s charity Lucy’s Days Out.

The charity, set up in memory of Lucy Page who died of cancer in 2010, raises money to provide trips and days out for children with serious illnesses.

Kiddi Galore Nursery in Burford Road, Salisbury put on a nativity play and held a raffle to raise £1,102.01 for the charity.

Pembroke House Sheltered Housing in Fisherton Street raised £128.55 throughout 2013 and Porton Hotel raised £1,800 from its quiz nights last year, which was split between Lucy’s Days Out and another charity.

Brothers Mark and Richard Bayfield raised £1,047 cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats. They travelled 960 miles over two weeks, camping along the way.

Tomorrow lots more businesses, schools and other organisations will be holding fundraisers to raise money for the charity as a way of marking what would have been Lucy’s 16th birthday.

If you’re holding a fundraiser tomorrow, please let us know how you got on and send your pictures to corey.ross@salisburyjournal.co.uk.
