SUPERMARKET staff handed over £1,000 to their charity partners after half a year of fundraising.
Sainsbury’s Ringwood deputy manager Tim Skellon and PR ambassador Vikki Jordan gave the cash to Rosemary Anderson of the Ringwood and Fordingbridge Club for the Blind during lunch at Tyrell’s Ford Hotel.
The club has also benefited from the help of Sainsbury’s staff during other fundraising activities, such as a successful cake stall on the Bickerley during the carnival, collections in the store and a carol concert by the Ringwood Community Choir.
In addition to the £1,000 a further £1,000 has been generated by the fundraising events and donations received as a result of the partnership.
Club sessions take place at Greyfriars in Christchurch Road from 2pm until 4pm on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. New members who are blind or visually impaired are welcome. Partners are welcome if they act as an escort.
