A FORDINGBRIDGE man who was found dead in his car took his own life, an inquest heard.

Peter Davies was discovered in the driver’s seat of his Fiat in the High Corner car park, in Linwood Road on November 29.

Officers found the 57-year-old’s diabetic medication, as well as empty packets of painkillers. A post-mortem revealed Mr Davies had 14 to 15 times the therapeutic amount of painkillers in his system.

Coroner Keith Wiseman was told no suicide note was found but that Mr Davies had suffered with chronic pancreatitis, a condition for which it is difficult to manage the pain.

Mr Wiseman ruled that Mr Davies deliberately took his own life.
