STUDENTS at Wiltshire College Salisbury are record-breakers, it has been confirmed.
The college has received confirmation from Guinness Book of Records that is has gained the title for the most people wearing paper hats, which it staged as part of a drive to increase and raise awareness of recycling.
A total of 1,664 staff, students and members of the public came together last January hoping to become the first people ever to successfully attempt wearing paper hats simultaneously across multiple locations.
The complexity of the challenge meant that it has taken nearly a year to check and confirm the evidence submitted.
Principal Di Dale said: “The record attempt was a true college-wide team effort of which we can all be proud and I would like to congratulate everyone involved.
“It is without doubt deserved recognition for a fantastic effort of logistics and was a memorable way in which to promote the Reduce, Reuse and Recycle message to our students, staff and the wider community of Wiltshire.”
