ROAD maintenance is the area in which Wiltshire Council most needs to invest, according to a public consultation.
The top three areas people thought should be invested in were roads (69.7 per cent), adult social care (42.6 per cent) and affordable housing provision (38.2 per cent). The most popular areas for cuts included archives or public records (43.7 per cent), museums and galleries (33.1 per cent) and concessionary fares (25.3 per cent).
The results were compiled from a survey of nearly 6,000 households and are part of the council’s budget-setting information.
