A SALISBURY photographer is celebrating success at the Master Photographers’ Association Wessex Region’s annual print competition.

The competition, held in Southampton on February 10, recognises the best photographers in the region across a range of categories, and was judged by wedding photographer Pete Bristo.

Anthony von Roretc from Trinity Photography came first and second in the pictorial category. His Salisbury Cathedral flood image was placed first, with his recently exhibited Stonehenge narrowly missing the top spot.

He then scooped the pets and animals first place award with his classical study of a rough collie, and he also gained a merit in the under fives category.

He said: “Having your work scrutinised by one of the best photographers in the country, in front of your peers, is an experience to remember. There was a lot of good work up for consideration, so to come away with two firsts and a second is a real honour.”
