Appleford pupils raise money for charity
YOUNGSTERS who were moved by the story of a village school in north India, have been praised for their fundraising efforts.
Jasmine Moudi and Ciaran Gallen, both 13 and pupils at Appleford School in Shrewton, raised £500 for a charity supporting a school in Neemrana.
They organised a jumble sale, cake sale, Christmas stocking sale and two sponsored silences. All the fundraising was done during their breaks and lunchtimes.
Headteacher David King said: “We are delighted with Jasmine and Ciaran’s outstanding achievement. They are a credit to themselves and to the school, giving a great example of living the school’s values in helping others to achieve their full potential. Well done to both of them.”
Appleford is a specialist dyslexia school for pupils aged seven to 16.
