TWO Wiltshire Police officers will be getting active in aid of a children’s charity.
PC Stuart Welch plans to take part in the Ride 24 cycle challenge in June, covering 310 miles in 24 hours, while his colleague PC Geoff Goodway will be running 33 miles across Salisbury Plain in the new Imber Ultra Race this Sunday.
They will be raising money for Splash.
Now in its 25th year, the charity started out as one PC working with young people in Chippenham. It now employs five members of staff who are based at Melksham Police Station and about 300 vulnerable young people a year benefit from the free activities it organises during school holidays.
