POLICE in Ludgershall stopped people believed to be involved in the supply of drugs on three separate occasions last week.

A man from the Andover area was stopped in Andover Road in Ludgershall on Monday and was subsequently arrested and cautioned for possession of cannabis. Two men from the Southampton area were stopped on Thursday.

One was found to have a large quantity of class A drugs with a street value of more than £1,000.

Both men were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and are currently on bail.

A man from Ludgershall and a woman believed to be from Manchester were stopped on Saturday, and found to have a large quantity of class A and class B drugs worth more than £2,200, along with more than £1,200 in cash.

Both were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and are currently on bail. PC Tim Bunt said: “This does indicate that drug use in Ludgershall is quite high and I would urge all people to be vigilant in respect to drug dealing and use.

"These people will target the local youths and we will work hard to stop these people coming in to the local area, and putting members of the community at risk. At the end of the day nobody knows what chemicals are put in to these drugs and they are illegal for a reason.”
