STUDENTS from Focus School, Wilton Campus have raised £10,000 for the RNLI.
Pupils decided to support the charity after hearing about the vital work it does around the British Isles.
They held a number of fundraising activities and were delighted to raise £10,000 throughout the school year.
Captain Neil Hardy, the Swanage lifeboat manager, and David Corbin, who fundraises for the RNLI, accompanied local co-ordinator Denis Twomey to the school in The Hollows, Wilton to receive the cheque and thank the students.
Focus School, Wilton Campus will be following the progress of the new lifeboat station being built at Swanage with interest and will be raising funds for The Trussell Trust this year.
