THIS Sunday will see Salisbury’s first teenage market in the city centre.

The Market Place will play host to the market, which will offer goods from young people under the age of 30 from across Salisbury and the surrounding area.

From hand-made leather jackets, lampshades and jewellery to clothes, knitted crafts and baked foods, the market promises to provide eclectic retail mix for all tastes, ages and budgets.

Teenage Markets have proven popular in the north west of Wiltshire, and Salisbury’s young people have been inspired to get involved with this new venture.

The Unit youth project will be taking part in the market, hosting the live performance stage and showcasing Salisbury’s finest young talent as well as a mural created as part of its workshop sessions. Visitors and residents will be able to enjoy the variety of free entertainment on offer including street dance, acoustic trios, singer songwriters, singing ensembles, rock bands and a live circus.

There is also the opportunity for anyone aged 13 to 25 to win a Samsung Galaxy 3 Tablet by completing a questionnaire which will be available at the mural workshop. The market will be open from 11am to 3pm.

More information on traders and performers is available at theteenagemarket.co.uk, on Facebook: Salisbury Teenage Market or Twitter @salisbury_TM.
