A GOLDEN couple who met at a dance in Salisbury are celebrating 50 happy years together.

Harry and Pat Tucker were married at St Mary's Church in Wilton on March 28, 1964.

The couple moved to Gramshaw Road, Salisbury, after they married and now live in Rectory Road.

Mr Tucker, 75, worked at Pankhurst Motorcycle Repairs in Salisbury, Hooper and Ashby, and then Auto & General.

Mrs Tucker, 69, worked at Wellworthy's in Harnham before becoming a cook at the former Westwood School and then head carer at Bemerton Lodge for 26 years.

They have two daughters, Lyn, 48, and Denise, 45, as well as three grandchildren.

Over the years the couple have enjoyed gardening together and holidays all over the world.

Mr and Mrs Tucker are holding a party at their sheltered accommodation to celebrate their anniversary, and later in the year they are planning a trip to Tenerife with family to celebrate.

Mr Tucker said: “We just work together and do things together.”“It doesn't feel like 50 years, it only feels like yesterday,” said Mrs Tucker.
