STAFF from across Salisbury District Hospital gathered to bid farewell to Ron Perry who retired as director of facilities after 39 years’ service to the NHS in Salisbury.
Mr Perry started his career as a cook at the Salisbury Infirmary in 1975, going on to become catering manager.
He took on the role of divisional manager in 1992, before becoming director of facilities.
Peter Hill, chief executive at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Throughout the last 39 years of loyal service to the NHS and our patients, Ron has been instrumental in so many of the achievements that have made Salisbury District Hospital what it is today.
“Facilities staff play an invaluable role in supporting clinical services throughout the hospital and their achievements wouldn't have been possible without the leadership, commitment and experience that Ron has provided over so many years. Ron has been an asset to the hospital and I know so many people would want to join me in thanking Ron and wishing him well for a long and happy retirement."
