INSPECTORS have given a glowing report to a Salisbury independent school’s pre-prep department.

Every aspect of Leehurst Swan’s provision for the children, aged from two to five, was rated outstanding.

HeadteacherRoger Leake said: “There is no higher rating. We are immensely proud.”

The team from the Independent Schools Inspectorate assessed the department last month.

They described “a happy, purposeful community in which the unique interests and talents of each individual are celebrated and fostered”.

The curriculum was said to be broad and varied, providing an excellent balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities, both indoors and outdoors.

Children’s needs were “quickly identified and exceptionally well met”.

All pupils were making at least good, and often excellent progress.

The standard of behaviour was also praised as excellent.

Mr Leake said the report was a tribute to the school’s governors, staff, and supportive parents.
