THERE were some super speedy ducks whizzing along the River Bourne as Newton Tony held its annual duck race on Sunday.
High river levels had caused the event to be postponed last month and warnings were still in place to ensure children's safety due to the fast flowing water.
But the brave birds, and host of rafts and boats, took to the water cheered on by youngsters and their parents.
The event was organised by the Friends of Newton Tony School and people paid £1 to enter their feathered friends.
Tea and cakes were provided by volunteers from Puffins Pre-school and the wet weather was just water off a duck's back as hoards of people turned out the enjoy the race.
