LOCAL charity Lucy's Days Out has organised some special workshops for sick children.

The charity, which organises fun experiences and days out for families dealing with serious illness, teamed up with Splash of Colour to hold a workshop last Wednesday for children on Sarum Ward at Salisbury District Hospital.

Maria Horsfall from the charity said: “The children really enjoyed having a creative afternoon relieving the boredom of being in hospital.”

Abigail, Jessica and Summer Paddock all have cystic fibrosis and spend more time in hospital than at home. The girls had a wonderful time painting Easter baskets and making hand imprints on tiles as a keepsake for their parents.

Julie Page, who set up the charity in memory of her daughter Lucy, also handed out Easter eggs to children on the ward.

The charity has organised another workshop with Beadie Eyes Jewellery for Wednesday.
