DARTS players of Salisbury gathered to pay their respects to a much-loved and well-respected member of the dart-playing community at the weekend.
Following the death of Martin Inder last year his teammates in Railway Social Club Division One created the Minder Cup as an annual event to be held on the weekend nearest his birthday on April 14.
The event, at Salisbury Snooker Club on Saturday, saw singles and doubles contests with a trophy donated by Mr Inder’s partner Dawn Dawes.
In the singles final John Rackham beat Des Stevens 4-2.
As a prelude to the event, Ben Collins, captain of Mr Inder’s team, had his chest waxed at La Bella’s in Silver Street.
He raised £536, taking the grand total, including a percentage of takings donated by the snooker club, to £1,500.
All the money raised will go to Something Silly in June, a local charity raising money for and awareness of melanoma.
