FIFTY members of Salisbury Concert Band will be travelling to Ludlow in Shropshire to play a concert in The Assembly Rooms auditorium on Saturday, April 26.
The band has been in existence since 2005, and now has 85 members, playing in both the main band and a B band for less experienced players.
Both bands play at least three concerts a year, and this concert in Ludlow is at the invitation of The Assembly Rooms, an important arts centre in the area, to help raise funds for the organisation.
The band, conducted by Chris Holmes, will be repeating a concert played at Leehurst Swan School on March 29, and recordings of that concert will be on sale. In Ludlow, the band's president, Robert Key, will be acting as compère, introducing the items and soloists.
