PLAY equipment at Winterbourne playground is set to be replaced thanks to a grant of £25,000. Winterbourne Parish Council was awarded the grant from the SITA Trust’s Queen Elizabeth Fields Fund.
The funding will allow for the replacement of worn out play equipment and the installation of new equipment to appeal to a much wider age range and for all abilities.
Councillor Maureen Atkinson from the parish council said: “This fantastic sum of money from SITA Trust has allowed us to purchase all the play equipment on our wish list. The village playground has been little used over the last year because the equipment was old and worn. There is already great excitement at the variety of new equipment that is being installed.
“We are hoping that people of all ages will be encouraged to enjoy our designated Field in Trust in its lovely setting alongside the River Bourne.”
