A FOOTPATH project in south Wiltshire is looking for a volunteer coordinator. The successful project has seen local volunteers install more than 50 new gates on the footpath network with the goal of improving access to the countryside, including a small part of the New Forest.
The paid 18-month post will recruit and lead volunteers taking part in activity days that bring people together to work on local footpaths. The role includes developing a guide to encourage people to take up walking.
Cllr Leo Randall, the Southern Wiltshire Area Board’s lead councillor for the project, said: “The volunteers have achieved so much so far and the coordinator will help to take this project to the next level.
