RINGWOOD’S old district council offices have been snapped up by UK’s largest private retirement housebuilder, Churchill Retirement Living.

It will become the firm’s first development in the town, despite their HQ being there.

A planning application is currently being prepared for a new lodge of one- and two-bedroom apartments. The development will offer a lodge manager, 24-hour Careline, lounge, wellbeing suite, guest suite and laundry room.

This lifestyle is becoming increasingly sought after by people of retirement age who have the benefit of a sociable environment while retaining their independence.

Spencer McCarthy, chairman and group managing director, said: “Ringwood is a wonderful market town with excellent links to the New Forest and the fantastic beaches on the south coast.”

It is a formula that has earned Churchill Retirement Living many awards, including the UK Over 50s Housing Awards for five consecutive years since 2009.

It was also highly ranked in the Sunday Times’ 100 Best Small Companies to Work For in 2013, and highly commended in the Housebuilder Awards 2012.
