POLICE are appealing for information after a can of drink thrown from a moving car damaged another vehicle.
The incident happened in Hindon Lane between Hindon and Tisbury at about 1.30pm on April 12 when it is believed a can was thrown from a maroon vehicle, hitting a Mitsubishi 4x4, damaging the paintwork and smashing a wing mirror.
PC Graham Briant said: “This was a completely random and potentially serious incident. The force the can was thrown with was such that the wing mirror was bent around and smashed; the occupants were very lucky it didn’t hit the windscreen or the side window.
“I don’t need to spell out the dangers of doing something as mindless as this and there’s absolutely no justification for anyone throwing any object at a moving vehicle."
Police have released a CCTV image of a vehicle and are keen to speak to the owner in relation to the incident.
Anyone with any information can contact Salisbury Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
