A CHARITY that gives children with special needs the chance to experience the fun of going to parties has celebrated its second birthday.

Play Partners Parties holds events at Five Rivers Leisure Centre, complete with bouncy castles, sports, games, balloons and a party tea.

The idea is to give disabled children who don’t regularly get to go to birthday parties the chance to make new friends and have traditional party fun.

Earlier this year the Journal reported that the charity needed more funding to keep going and it received several donations as a result, including £250 from Allen Planning Ltd.

Teenage volunteers help run the parties, supporting the guests and making sure they have a good time.

On Sunday a special party was held to celebrate the fact the charity has been running independently for two years.

Play Partner Parties relies on donations and support and also needs more teenage volunteers to help at future events.
