CYCLING enthusiasts can enjoy two days of events this weekend for Cycle Wiltshire.

The cycling event on Saturday and Sunday will offer riding events and entertainments for families as well as the opportunity to watch elite competitors.

A dream team of cycling experts are managing the event – Wiltshire-based former GB cyclist Andy Cook, who worked closely with Davina McCall and John Bishop on their Sports Relief challenges, two-time Olympian Simon Lillistone, who was cycling manager for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and Anthony McCrossan, founder of Cyclevox, the leading cycling media and PR company in the UK, and top cycling commentator.

Cook said: “We work with everyone from schoolchildren to top professional athletes, and every cyclist wants the same thing - an enjoyable ride in the countryside that’s safe and memorable.

“We get a real boost from helping people get on their bikes and ensure they have a good time; that’s why we’re pleased to help create Cycle Wiltshire – it’s a real opportunity for everyone to get out and enjoy the fantastic county we live in.”

On Saturday a sportive event will give people of all abilities the chance to take part in a picturesque ride through Salisbury and the surrounding area, with the choice of 20 miles, 64 miles or 100 miles.

There will also be activities, stalls, food and entertainment at the Cycle Village at Five Rivers Leisure Centre from 8.30am.

On Sunday, the Cycle Wiltshire Grand Prix will see about 100 of the best riders in Britain race around the streets of Wilton from 11am and spectators are encouraged to watch the action.
