LOTS of exciting acts are planned for Ringwood's International Festival of Street Performance Art, Fanfare for Spring, to be held on Saturday, May 17 from 10.30am-4.30pm.
New to Fanfare this year are Spank the Plank's Appalachian clog dance team, imaginative acrobatic dance group Joli-Vyann, and traditional song and dance group La Morelle, from Pont Audemer - Ringwood's twin town in Normandy.
In addition there will be local dance and theatre groups performing throughout the town during the day; the New Forest School of Dance, Sally Adams Dance Works and The Big Little Theatre Company and Ringwood Musical and Dramatic Society.
Forest Forge and the Stagecoach Theatre School will be performing too.
There will be many bands, including a steel band from Balham who will be holding a workshop, plus rock bands from Ringwood school and Ringwood Rock Choir.
For the children there will be a Punch and Judy, story-telling and face painting.
After the day's activities a concert at 5pm in the Market Square is planned to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the D-Day Landings, with the Big Swing Band Concert with the Andrews Sisters tribute, Scarlet Swing.
The weekend begins with a comedy night on Friday, May 16 from 7pm at the Conservative Club and finishes with The Amberley Ensemble playing music by British and French composer in popular styles at 3pm at the Trinity Centre.
